Drostanolone Propionate

How It Works

The propionate ester is removed after release from the injection site, leaving active drostanolone. This DHT derived androgen binds to androgen receptors and stimulates the signalling that regulates muscle protein balance. Propionate gives the preparation a shorter release duration than an enanthate ester.

Muscle Retention and Definition

The main physique interest is maintaining lean tissue and a harder muscular appearance as body fat decreases. These are reported bodybuilding outcomes rather than effects measured reliably in controlled human trials. Low body fat is necessary for changes in muscular definition to become clearly visible.

Post Cycle Therapy

The shorter ester still suppresses the body's own testosterone output. PCT aims to address persistent suppression after the cycle has ended. Propionate has a shorter clearance period than enanthate, while the return of testosterone, LH and FSH determines actual recovery.

Side Effects

Possible adverse effects include acne, hair thinning in susceptible men, changes in libido, reduced sperm output and adverse lipid changes. Blood pressure and cardiovascular health also require attention with sustained androgen exposure. Pain or inflammation can occur around the injection site. Virilisation is a particular concern for women.
