How It Works
The peptide binds to cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane. This interaction improves the organisation and function of that membrane, which is central to oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production. Its target is mitochondrial energy handling rather than the androgen or growth hormone receptor.
Mitochondrial Energy and Muscle Function
Human research in older adults with impaired mitochondrial function has measured an acute increase in muscle ATP production capacity. Studies have also examined muscle function in specific diseases. These findings do not establish greater strength, endurance or muscle growth in healthy trained adults.

Post Cycle Therapy
The peptide has no established indication for steroid style PCT. It acts on mitochondrial membrane function rather than directly supplying an androgen. Any testosterone recovery issue after a steroid cycle is assessed independently.
Side Effects
Injection site redness, pain, swelling, itching and bruising are recognised reactions with elamipretide. Serious hypersensitivity reactions are also possible. Clinical experience in specific diseases does not establish the safety of an unverified research preparation or prolonged use for athletic performance.
