How It Works

Removal of the hexahydrobenzylcarbonate ester releases the active androgen, which activates androgen receptors and influences genes controlling muscle protein retention and breakdown. Experimental work has shown increased anabolic signalling and reduced expression of pathways associated with muscle wasting.

Muscle Retention and Body Composition

Animal studies document increases in muscle mass and protection against muscle loss with this androgen. These findings explain its association with strength and lean tissue retention. Controlled human trials have not established the scale of these performance effects.

Post Cycle Therapy

The steroid suppresses the hormonal signals that drive natural testosterone production. Post cycle therapy addresses recovery after that exposure has ended. The longer release period must be accounted for before interpreting hormone recovery or deciding on medication.

Side Effects

Reported adverse effects include sleep disturbance, night sweats, anxiety, irritability, sexual dysfunction and reduced exercise tolerance. Acne, hair loss, adverse cholesterol changes and cardiovascular strain are further concerns. Natural testosterone and fertility can be suppressed. The frequency of these individual effects is not well quantified in controlled human studies.
