How It Works

The peptide binds to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, also known as the ghrelin receptor. It triggers an episode of growth hormone release from the pituitary. Early pharmacology showed relatively selective GH stimulation, and human volunteer research confirmed a measurable GH response.

Growth Hormone Pulses and Recovery Research

Ipamorelin's established human effect is stimulation of GH release. Interest in body composition and tissue recovery follows from that hormonal action. Controlled trials have not demonstrated extra muscle growth, strength gains or faster training recovery in healthy lifters.

Post Cycle Therapy

The peptide does not act through the androgen suppression mechanism targeted by steroid PCT. There is no established requirement for PCT after ipamorelin alone. GH axis changes and testosterone recovery after separate steroid exposure are different questions.

Side Effects

Possible concerns include injection reactions, hypersensitivity and GH related effects on fluid balance or glucose control. Human safety information for common physique routes and prolonged use is limited. Serious events have occurred in intravenous clinical research, but these do not establish their frequency or causation with other routes.
