How It Works

The medicine activates GLP-1 receptors in pathways that regulate appetite and eating behaviour. It reduces hunger, increases fullness and lowers voluntary calorie intake. It also increases glucose dependent insulin secretion and reduces inappropriate glucagon secretion when blood glucose is elevated.

Hunger Reduction and Fat Loss

The medicine reduces food cravings and the amount eaten at meals. The resulting reduction in calorie intake drives weight loss, including loss of body fat. For someone cutting, the relevant action is reduced appetite pressure while maintaining a calorie deficit.

Post Cycle Therapy

The medicine alone does not require steroid style PCT because it does not act as a suppressive androgen. Appetite and weight control can change after discontinuation, while testosterone recovery is a separate issue if anabolic steroids were also involved.

Side Effects

Possible effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, reflux and abdominal pain. Pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, dehydration related kidney injury and severe gastrointestinal symptoms are important risks. Lean tissue can be lost during weight reduction. A very rare optic nerve disorder, NAION, can cause vision loss. Thyroid tumour precautions apply to medullary thyroid carcinoma and MEN2 histories.
