How It Works
The peptide stimulates growth hormone secretion through the ghrelin receptor system. This increases the release of the body's own GH from the pituitary. Ghrelin receptor activity also links the peptide to hunger signalling and its reputation for increasing appetite.
GH Secretion, Hunger and Gaining Phases
A clear human effect is increased growth hormone release. Greater appetite is another reason for interest in GHRP-6 during mass gaining phases, although specific human food intake evidence is more limited than the GH secretion data. Additional muscle and strength outcomes have not been established in controlled training trials.
- Increasing endogenous GH secretion.
- Activating receptor pathways involved in hunger.
- Producing a GH pulse through pituitary stimulation.
Post Cycle Therapy
The peptide does not replace testosterone or directly suppress its production through androgen receptor feedback. A routine steroid PCT course is not established for GHRP-6 alone. Any hormonal symptoms after stopping require assessment of their actual cause.
Side Effects
Possible effects include pronounced hunger, changes in glucose regulation, injection site irritation and GH related fluid retention. Human studies have documented cortisol and prolactin increases under some conditions. Long duration safety and the frequency of adverse effects with physique use remain uncertain.
